Edmonton goaltender Jack Campbell was hit in the face on the bench against New Jersey.


The Oilers goaltender was Stewart Skinner`s backup in this NHL regular season game. Devils won - 5:2.

The goalkeeper went to the locker room and never returned.


27-year-old emergency goaltender George Blinick (formerly of the NCAA Division 3 team) was ready to fill in for Skinner if he couldn`t continue the game.


After the game, Edmonton head coach Jay Woodcroft offered no further details about Campbell`s condition. Skinner said Jack had a nosebleed.
