PSG and Argentina forward Lionel Messi became the best playmaker of 2022 according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.


Messi received this title for a record fifth time. The record previously belonged to former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi, who was named playmaker of the year four times.
