Mexican players have decided not to compete in the Davis Cup World Group playoffs against Taiwan due to differences with the Mexican Tennis Federation.


The matches by betting odds are scheduled for February 4-5 in Metepec, Mexico.


Lack of communication, planning and interest shows that the situation was not handled properly and that personal motives take precedence over sporting ones.


It is sad that the federation does not have minimum standards in working with the country`s best representatives and planning, " the statement said.


The players reported that they had already informed the federation of the reasons for their refusal.


The statement was signed by Santiago Gonzalez, Alejandro Hernandez, Miguel Angel Reis-Varela, Ernesto Escobedo, Lucas Gomez, Hans Hach, Gerardo Lopez and Manuel Sanchez.
