Bayern football players Emily Bragstad and Tuva Hansen spoke about winter training in Qatar.


"We players shouldn`t talk so much about where we go to training camp when we have a sponsor who makes it possible. "This is not a place I would go on vacation. But when the situation is like this, we go here. We can`t leave and say that we`re not going to the training camp. We are players. We will train hard and be well prepared for the start of the season, " said Emily Bragstad.





"We don`t want to be part of this. "We really don`t want this, but maybe it`s a difficult situation for us players. We are put in a difficult situation and are not sure that we can do anything about it, " said Tuva Hansen.





"It`s difficult for us as individuals to do anything about the fact that the club decided to send us to Qatar for a training camp. It`s hard to say what would have happened if the entire group of players had boycotted the training camp, because we`ve already been to our site, " Bragstad noted.


According to the players, the players try to represent their club in the best possible light during their stay in Qatar. On Thursday, the Bayern women`s team held a joint training session with the Qatar women`s team.


"We visited the school and also trained with some of the girls to show that it was possible for them too. We are trying to make the most of the current situation, so to speak, " Bragstad said.





- Of course, we understand that people have their own opinions on this matter. But we feel that this is something above us. In a way, the club forecast by football predictions is in control. We try to reflect the values of our club, for example by meeting schoolchildren and training with women`s teams. Show the world what we really think, " Hansen added.


Both the Bayern men`s and women`s teams have held winter training camps in Qatar every year since 2011. Since 2018, Qatar Airways has been a sponsor of the club.
